Are You The Fuse That Will Light Me Up?
My generation is populated by booz hounds and pill heads
crude clowns on bedspreads stained with the neon dreams of cocaine fiends
i mean, the diamond flooded visions of sex kittens, who sweat bullets glitter and Chanel
i mean, the ones who live in debt to buy spray cans of fake tan.
I mean, the ones who drop out of college to get collagen
hoping to hook up with popped collar, gen y men with copy cat tattoos, footy contracts and right angle jaws.
hoping to ride amphetamine horses in red porches into clubs who’s shelf life is over right about now.

Ahh Pointless Nostalgia

Back when i was 16 i worked at an old North Shore cinema for 2 passage of rights’esque years. I was the grubby skater kid that had ripped black pants, never tucked in the hoyts button down and always ‘torch checked’ the R18+ movies for that extra 20 mins. I’d give mates kilos of free bulk candy and comp tickets for pretty girls. I’d stand for hours at cinema 8 ripping tickets to Scream 3 and Fight Club whilst listening to the arcade machines’ warped 30 second music loop endlessly. Dayytonnnaa, lets go to race. During the weekdays the place would be a ghost town, my fat supervisor would chainsmoke in the fire exit and argue with his ex on his coveted nokia 8210. The rest of the candy bar staff would eat choc tops, swap stories over how fucked we got on the weeknd and discuss whether or not Tempe Biven was hot or just a cock tease. All for a wage of 7.20 an hour. I’d sometimes space out whilst the arcade machine lights became a series of flashing blurred colours and wonder what type of car would i drive in 10 years, whether i would have a rad girlfriend, would i be rich, still skateboarding and if so, would i be pro. Guess i know how that all worked out. Its all too easy now to peer precariously through those memories now.. With everything thats happened in the last 3 months, im kinda waiting for that dollar coin to drop into the arcade machine of my increasingly late 20’s to replay the loop.
Time Extension.
Broke out of routine and took these badboys out for a run the other day. Only 5km, 1st time running in months. Have been on the smokes pretty hard and that made the run 300% harder. Felt good to get out there, fall into a breathing pattern and achieve the standard cbd circuit. Wish my lungs were as fresh as these trainers..
